The mysteries inside a cow's rectum are worldwide. Everyone wants to know, "Is she pregnant, doc?" Their second question is, "Why do I get so many bulls?" I was invited to Bolivia to assist with a seminar on dairy reproduction where I helped to answer the first question but, as usual, was stumped by the last one. Dr. Bill and Heidi Janecke, Christian Veterinary Mission fieldworkers, hosted me on this trip and introduced me to a number of local producers.
